Cameron Highland

By on August 12, 2011

I received text from syauQi while he was away for work “i balik ni, ade cuti 4 hari…nak pegi mane2 tak sblum bulan puasa” Wahhh dgn lajunye i jawab NAK. I suggested Cameron Highland. We were not sure where to stay though, our number one criteria is always “accessible to food at anytime” and number 2 is spacious room. I tweeted around to ask for suggestion, few suggested the YTL CameronHighland Resort. Mom stayed there before, mmg tak deny room cantek tp food jauh and their room service food tak sedap tapi mahal yg amat. Not worth the price. If mahal tp sedap boleh lah nk consider..tp since mom said tak sedap..so we had to strike CameronHighland Resort of the list.

Some suggested Strawberry Park , i didnt google on it sebab dlm kepala dh kate taknk. Reason? I went with my family to cameron and stayed there when i was small…so dlm kepala dah saiko, wuish hotel lame sure tak bes. Boleh tak kepala saiko diri sendiri mcm tu padahal im sure they have done refurbishment bagai. Oh talking of going there when i small (somewhere around ย 8 years old tak silap)…i had little memories of the place. When i was in form 3, went to Outward Bound School to be the Course Assistant, i was under an instructor who’s hometown is in cameron highland. I actually asked him “eh u have to travel down everyday ah to go to school?” ye lah dulu pegi still kecik mane lah perasan situ adalah sebuah “perkampungan” yg besar…tot mcm genting kan. Skali he answered “Why, i really look uneducated ah? cam budak tak pegi sekolah ke?” hihihi, Oppsss, may bad.

Nway, back to our accommodation. My cousin been there couple of times and stayed at Century Pine, Tanah Rata. She said food not a problem, walking distance and depan hotel ade playground, just ideal for the kids. Called them up and made reservation for Deluxe Garden. Love the idea where we have courtyard for the kids to run about. We travelled up via Simpang Pulai. We were told by many jalan from Simpang Pulai is better, wider road. Tapi sebab dah berzaman tak naik via Tapah we couldnt do any comparison. Syauqi pulak mmg his first time to Cameron so he was wondering as well, wondering what people meant by wider roads coz for him its was rather narrow. We left KL quite late actually, reached our hotel at about 330pm. Syauqi went in to check-in while we waited in the car. He came back and asked me “you, ade Pahang suite, nak tak? 2 bedroom” i asked “ade courtyard tak?”. “ade” replied syauqi. So apa lagi, i pun jawab “if u nak bayar, i okay je” hihih

Somehow this 2 bedroom suite was not shown in their website. However the Pahang suite is only available for one night, dah ade org booked for the following day. We were not sure weather we wanted to stay for a night or 2 nights. We were given the option of staying in Pahang suite for a night and if we decide to stay for another night, we can move to Perak suite, also 2 bedroom but on the first floor, thus no courtyard. We agreed to that.

This was the room we stayed, it has a kitchenette as well. Sape yg rajin masak tu boleh lah masak.

The kids love it coz they were not disconnected to their Disney Junior channel. The room has astro with their 613.

I always love the private courtyard idea, where we can open the door all day and kids and go in and out within my sight

hArith fooling around

the courtyard was quite big

If you wish to have the normal room with courtyard, you may take the deluxe garden. But for deluxe garden, the courtyard wont be a private one, you will share with your “neighbours”. It looks good enough for me though.

After check-in, rest for 15 mins or so and off we went for late lunch at the hotel cafe. Then nk gi jalan kedai nearby, cousin told me it was walking distance. Yes, i dont deny it. It was walking distance…tapi to go with 4 kids, hmm. We were heading to the shops already when syauqi asked me “you tau ke nk gi kedai mane” Of coz lah tak kan, i pun first time dtg sini. But i had in mind already, wanted to go to T-Cafe as suggested by my friend and cousin. Skali syauqi bising, “tak tau tempat tapi nk pegi dgn budak2, stroller lagi.Memang lah kak Jaja boleh pegi jalan kaki, die 2 anak, …dah besar” . Ha kan tak pasal2 kena marah…haha. So kami patah balik hotel and decided to take the car and pegi tea plantation. We went to Bharat tea planation. Ade 2 by the way. One is if you naik from Simpang Pulai, it is before Brinchang. And the other one is if u naik from Tapah, before Tanah Rata. My mom told me to go to the one near Brinchang. We actually went to a different one, not the one mom suggested. We went to Bharat tea plantation instead of Boh tea (mom suggested), tak jumpe yg my mom went. But anyhow, the kids love the tea plantation, they were running up and down. Uzair, who is so famous of malas-nak-jalan-dukung-me-or-i-will-just-baring-on-the-ground was the happiest among all…lari naik and down the hill.

kids going up and down the hill,

it was difficult to get picture of athirAh, naik sama2, tapi bila turun, she went down a different trail

dad playing hide and seek with son

Boo!!!

someone refused to go home and ended up running up the hill again

the dad had to go and get him

Next stop was the strawberry farm. We wanted the kids to experience strawberry picking. They have lots of farm, we were clueless which one to go. Thus we just turn to the next signage of strawberry farm that we saw. It turned out to be a disappointment. The trees were fruitless. It was already 6-ish pm, decided to head ย back to the hotel. Walked to the playground opposite of the hotel for the kids to burn their remaining energy. About 30 minutes there, and we returned back to the room. While i shower the kids, syauQi went to get us some food and at the same time survey the place wheater it is 4 children friendly or not. We spend the night in the room to watch Malaysia vs Singapore.
Next morning, we decided to extend our stay. Moved all our belonging to the Perak Suite after we had our buffet breakfast. We enquire at the hotel reception on strawberry farm, she told us few of major farms. We passed by Raju’s farm (one of the name mentioned by the receptionist) and decided to stop over. Again, it was a disappointment. Was told it was not the season for strawberry picking. They had few ready picked pack of strawberries for sale though. The man told us “it’s not season, but even if it is the season, it will be cheaper if u buy the ready pack, its only RM35 while self picked will be RM55” (alar sbb die takde tuk kami self-pick, dan2 kate self-pick mahal) We decided to mend our disappointment by buying the strawberry and cream from their little cafe.
(pic by phone)
We stop at few other places, tried luck at other strawberry park hoping for strawberry picking for the kids and the bee farm (didnt go in though coz of the steps we had to walk, not convenient with the kids). We had our lunch at a restaurant located beside the De La Ferns Hotel (the hotel is between Tanah Rata and Brinchang). I had yummy strawberry waffles and kids ordered strawberry milkshake. Yes over here, everything was about strawberry. Tapi kami tertipu actually, i saw them blend the strawberry milkshake, they didn’t put any fresh strawberry in it, instead they used the hersyes’ strawberry syrup. Lucky thing it taste yummy. Tak lah rase artificial sgt. Syauqi had lamb chop. It was nice, we actually came again the next day for it. The kids had fried rice.
While having our meals, i tweeted bout us in Cameron and our disappointment of the strawberry farm, Neeza replied to my tweet, suggested to us to go to Opah strawbery Farm. Neeza was at Cameron Highland a week before us. Opah Farm is at Kampung Taman Sedia, opposite the kindergarten. You will passed by a surau, then the kindergarten. I think this was the only Muslim strawberry farm we came across. Thanks to Neeza. Most farm is at the hill slope, not convenient for us with kids. Opah farm was just ideal, park our car near the entrance and we can start picking ๐Ÿ˜€ 1kg of strawberries was RM35.
the pack above is approximately 500gram
Elder 2 were so happy picking strawberries, i had to stop them coz i doubt it we can finish so much of strawberries.
Then we went to the T-Cafe as suggested by others. Their scones were yummy, the next day i even tapau 10 strawberry scones home, 3 i gave to yaya yg mengidam strawberry scones. Stated at the wall, you can only get strawberry scone at T-Cafe. Dont know how far is it true, but through out my stay i didn’t come across other places that sells strawberry scones. Eating at T-cafe felt so homey. Other foods just so so je. But i would love to go there again for their scones! They have the usual scones with butter and cream as well. T-Cafe is at Tanah Rata, shop above Marry Brown, you have to go by the side of Marry Brown and u will see steps going up. I’m not sure if they have rename the shop because they have at the menu book written The Lord Cafe.
felt so cosy, like eating at home.
(pic by phone)
Went back to the hotel as kids were already tired hoping in and out of the car. My mission to search for the Boh plantation that my mom meant was a failure. Rested in the room before we continue our next mission; the night market at Brinchang. We went at about 5-ish hoping less traffic and easier to get for car park. We bought lotsa of food for dinner at the night market. Mom told us to buy some vegetables but we decided to buy it the next day before we leave back to KL. I was rather surprised (and impressed) that despite all kind of strawberries souvenir (i.e ballon, ball, bag) hanging everywhere at the night market, none of my kids asked for it. All kinds of food ade, somehow they are very fond of deep fried, crab, prawn sume deep fried.
Oh one funny thing, the corn (jagung rebus) was RM3 each, BUT here in taman tun night market, jagung rebus cameron is only rm2!!! We were shocked to hear it was RM3, told the makcik, RM3?? kt KL RM2!. The makcik kate lain, x same, in which i replied “sama makcik, jagung cameron / mutiara. Rupe pun sama, RM2. if jagung yg biasa RM1.70 cik” she kept saying “lain dik, rase dulu” Dok suruh rase dulu tapi tak pulak kasi sample kt kami ๐Ÿ˜› We decided not to buy it. Went to other stalls, all selling it for RM3 each. macam rase tertipu if we beli…but kids already asked for it coz jagung mmg one of the compulsory food to buy whenever we go night market. Told syauqi to go to the car with elder 2 first coz he had lots to carry while i and younger two hunt for the jagung. After walking from one end to another, i found a stall selling for RM2. “auntie, why others sellling for RM3, auntie je sell for RM2” “others buy from people, i plant myself mahh”
Hand were full, didnt bring our camera along to take photos of the night market scene. ย After few minutes babywear Uzair, he felt asleep in it smpai kepala terlentok.
this was how i carried younger 2 to hunt for jagung rebus
There was an empty space dedicated for car park for the night market. It was RM3 per entry.
Had our dinner and later i tweet about our day picking strawberries, few friends requested to tapau for them. It was of coz a good news for the elder 2, more strawberry picking for tomorrow! ๐Ÿ˜€
The next day, took our own sweet time waking up. Buffet breakfast wasnt that great, so we syauQi said, if miss breakfast we can get something else outside. Pack the bags while waited for syauQi to get up. We still managed to get some bites at the buffet. Remember i mention before, uZAir and his tantrum.. we knew the prime suspect of such behaviour is the maid, coz maid tolerate his behaviour and give whatever he wants (i caught maid giving him a spoonful of sugar!!!) Through out our trip, he showed no tantrum and sat all by himself every meal. If kat rumah kena suap lah, dok atas riba lah.
can even give us a smile while eating by himself!
We checked out after breakfast, head to Opah farm again to buy total of 9 boxes of strawberries. Then head to Kea Farm to buy vegetables. It was saturday, traffic was terrible. We all waited in the car while syauqi did the marketing coz we didnt get a proper parking space and also too hassle to bring all for marketing. I insist on searching for the tea plantation that my mom mention. With great determination (chewahh…haha) we found it. Signboard wasnt visible enough. The view was magnificent. Tapi the road was very2 narrow, with our big car…hah mmg payah. If only we found the way the day before, with less traffic we could enjoy the view better. We didnt get down because no parking lot unless we park way down and walk up. So we view from the car. View was superb, masyaAllah. From the junction, stated 2.5 km (tak ingat, 2. somthing km) but jalan beliku2, donno lah how ppl walk in. jln beliku2 naik turun…mau semput. Where is this Boh Plantation Sungai Palas? If you are from Brinchang, after Kea Market, you will pass Equatorial Hotel, go further up till u see a Bee Farm. The junction is exactly opposite the Bee Farm. Its written Sungai Palas. Jalan sgt berliku and narrow, if ade car dtg from opposite direction mmg payah. But if tak pegi mmg rugi, sangat cantek! MasyaAllah. Sorry we dont have a photo of it, perhaps a solid reason to go there again…hihi
So got what i wanted, time to head home. We decided to balik via Tapah, so we know what people meant by Jalan Tapah narrow compared to Simpang Pulai. Before that singgah T-Cafe to take away scones. Ni pun cam cuak2 nk bgtau syauQi to stop tapau, tapi kang kempunan jenuh pulak…hihi.
On the way down, we passed by the other Bharat Tea Plantation. View was much better than the other Bharat we went BUT the other Bharat is more children friendly where kids can run about. The Bharat (on the way down to Tapah) is more steep for the kids. And it was raining earlier in the morning, making it more slippery for the kids. Uzair was asleep in the car, syauQi stayed with him and uWais while i brought the elder 2.
I was sooo happy that finally i manage to get shots of this gal.
and yayyy more shots of my gal
like the hat? that’s from okinokiyo . get a customade hat for ur lil one ๐Ÿ˜€
That was our last stop, felt like having a tea here with scone but uzair was a sleep in the car..so dare not say it to En suami, hihi.
Balik via Tapah, mmg jalan berliku2, it is not so much of wider or narrow road but more on winding road, berliku2. Overall it was a good trip. I can now strike Cameron off from my places i wish to go. Eh chop but i want more of the scones..so noo, can’t strike that off. hihih
Thanks to the husband for bringing us. And i think im getting a hang of it, packing for all of us at the very last minute. I packed the bag just before we left. Same thing happen for our Avillion PD trip, syauQi surprised me and gave me an hour to pack the bag. This time around i had 2 hours to do so. Wanted to pack the night before but ended up falling asleep while putting the kids to sleep..opps. So bangun pagi tu baru pack. And when i look at athirAh walking around…it reminds me of myself, when i was younger, going for a family trip. 4 siblings with parents. Looking at athirah, it makes me feel like i am my mom. Just like before, bringing all of us for holiday. Yes we survived bringing 4 kids, age 4 years below for a 2 nights trip without any extra hand. Alhamdulillah. Syauqi said, no one can understand us, coz if yg ade 4 anak pun the age wont be the same like our kids. So if a person say “oh senang je gi situ” , yes it may be senang for them but not for us. Byk consideration we need to do, but most importantly…tempat to accessible to food…hihi
Oh,before gi cameron, i was telling the kids, Papa bringing us to cameron, it is cold up there. Sampai sane, hArith asked me “mommy where’s the snow?” me “there’s no snow up here hArith” . “but u said it is cold up here” awww, pitty him, i gave him false hope.
nway, looking back at the photos, i have a kind of feeling that i cant put it into words, the feeling that it was a success, the two of us manage to handle 4 lil ones for a trip. with no extra help, no major chaos, alhamdulillah. the photo below makes my heart leap ๐Ÿ˜‰
this only happen the first minute they get their food, all well seated. the longest 1 minute for us…hihi. ย (pic by phone)

Carnival Circus Theme: The T-shirts

By on August 5, 2011

Guess what might the conversation below be?

My guess would be;

Harith “Irshad, tshirt ni Wan Glam and mOmmy paint kan tau!”

All tshirts were hand painted, i ni pandai kasi idea tapi tangan keras jegang tak reti lukis. Lucky me Ami was around to help. She drew for me and we paint it together. This tshirt was the one and only thing syauQi requested for. He wanted tshirt written Papa and if ikutkn sume org pun die kate should wear “Pah” “Tuk Ki” and my siblings too tapi mmg lar others tak nak kan. Instead of just wording i decided to put on the theme logo on it. Kids t-shirt siap a day before while the parents siap few minutes before the party. In fact mine blum completely dry when i wore it.

I decided to go with “mom” as my wording sbb wanna make Ami’s life easier instead of tulis Mommy.

We bought red glitter paint, it looks better on syauQi’s black tshirt. We all were in white according to the theme, bapak budak takpe die finance minister boleh sukahati nak warna ape…and at the end of the day, his was the best actually coz can see the glitter on black better

since i wear hijab, i decided to place my logo and wording by the corner instead of kat chest

and the kids have their age in the middle,

athirah,

uzair,

and uwais had his rompers painted too ๐Ÿ™‚

Carnival Circus Theme Party ; Triple Celebration 2011

By on July 25, 2011

this is an extremely long entry, over loaded with lotsa photos

Okay where do i begin? The party itself or the preparation? I’ll just type whatever comes out from my mind…will try my very best to do it in a proper sequence.

Well, i did get green light from my finance minister to have this party but as usual we need to wait end of the month (24th onwards) to get his roster before we can set a date for the party. Elder 2 birthday is in June while uZair’s is in july but there wasnt any weekend in june syauQi was around. So there goes my hope. Didn’t want to prepare things coz afraid july pun he takde off day on weekends and the following month will be august so no way we can do it during ramadhan. Syauqi did request off day for july weekend but it wasnt firm in black n white , so i just did some minimal preparation because of the uncertainty (i.e designing, with the help of my sis-in-law of coz) When july roster was out i was simply thrilled syauqi ade off day on a weekend. Terus start printing ape yg patut, cut and assembled. Yup i had to assembled the popcorn box cum party pack. 70 of it and other cuttings to do, toppers, food tray, water bottle lable, to name a few. Mom helped a lot, i repeat A LOT of potong kain to do the flag banner, my dear school friend help me jahit it. i have a sewing machine but i doubt it i can do it straight and neat unless i take my very own sweet time. i only have like 2 weeks or so to prepare all. Oh i had lots of surprises (read: secret) for syauQi. I had lots of things under ย my sleeve that he were not aware off if not sure bising buang masa dan fulus…hihi. He had no idea at all on this flag banner thingy, that morning, i took out all the flag to be hung, asking for his help. he was like “you nak buat ape ni? ” i nak flag ni from all tiang to meet up here” though of using a kayu but he suggested ikat je trus kat pokok tu. ย Oh i simply love the end result…making it look more carnival i hope.

from all tiang

Oh and also i had to do lotsa paper pom pom for the wall deco. my first few was a lil (ohkay i admit, a lot) comot…i had my sister’s fren who was my org kuat behind this birthday to teach me how to make a better pom pom, walllaa…and the result was this. all for the featured wall,

dessert table,
last minute i saw the polka dot apam kt restoran in kg subang, balik rumah terus zasss google up “apam polka dot damansara” and walla found one in kota damansara and she does delivery. PERFECT. my number one criteria,i need delivery service coz wont have the time to pick it up, oh did i mention, my mom jatuh and fractured her knee cap and now kaki plaster, so i pun macam patah kaki tak cukup kaki tangan. she felt on the 1st july, 8 days b4 the bday.
and more pics of the food on the dessert table; jelly beans, butter sugar cookies, choki choki, chocs…
the pic above, i didnt notice it was all uzair’s name. i should have turn one or two boxes the other way round for the elder 2’s name.
main menu for the adults were mee rebus. slalunye my mom akn tlg kuar kn bekas hidang food. pagi tu baru lah terhegeh me nk kuarkn, trus lupe nk kuarkn the bekas bawah to keep the food warm…warrgghh my bad. syauQi suke mee rebus, so mmg every majlis you all boleh expect this i guess…hihi.
for the kids instead of the usual homemade spaghetti, we decided to order ย fried rice n fried macaroni since doubt it ade mase nk cook .
notice the blue with red dot fabric in the above pic? was so happy to see it in crazyartzone.com , perfect match.
alhamdulillah manage to stick to the “tentative programe” , i scheduled the cake cutting to be early sebelum kids get comot and berpeluh main games.syauqi dah kate awal2 takyah beli cake besar just because cantik pastu nanti tak abis makan, berbulan dalam fridge. he specifically mentioned die nak the rainbow cake, i had no objection against it coz it suit well with the theme. searched high and low for it and finally stumbled upon thatlastslice.blogspot.com. it was even more perfect coz unlike others, this lady does not cover the whole cake with icing. you can see the layered. Other bakers will cover the cake with icing and only after you cut it will you be able to see the layered colours. This lady however does not do delivery on weekends, but it was love at first sight, thus i was willing to pick it up from bukit jelutong. i ate few rainbow cakes before, they used butter cream icing, making the cake sgt lah sweet, but thatlastslice uses creamcheese, yummy!.Ordered 2 rainbow cake and one red velvet.
Yes, we had fireworks on the cake. mom found it at Kazakhstan. ย We had enough fireworks for all 3, but we made the right decision to only fire on the last cake. The kids were afraid of it. Lucky thing it was on the last cake or else tak sempat lah nyanyi 3 songs, budak2 dh cabut lari.
After the cake cutting, i arranged the games. It wouldnt be a carnival without a game aight. Ohh the minute i decide on this theme, my main focus was to have a ticket booth. Went to the hardware shop with hanah’s friend (her name is Ami btw) but they didnt have the pvc connector that we wanted. Dah kecewa yang amat, after 3 hardware shop….non had what we wanted. But brilliant ami managed to figure out something…and tadaaaaa, we had our ticket booth.
Alia, my customize bday biz partner ๐Ÿ™‚
syauqi’s sister and niece
What is a ticket booth without a ticket aight ๐Ÿ˜‰
and each kids will get a sticker name as well
We had 5 games all together,
Can Knockdown,
Among the things i like about syauQi is that he has friends from all walk of life. one of his friends ade stall air kat uptown hawkers and samba futsal centre…so we easily get 20 cans of condensed milk to prepare for this can knockdown game.
Ring Toss,
not sure who was more frustrated, the kids or the adults…hihi
at the end of the day, if im not mistaken, Fadd (kazim’s mom) je yg bejaya put a ring in…
i forced everyone in the house to finish 16 bottles of V-soy drink in 3 days to get the bottles ready…hihi
Pin The Nose,
Beanbag toss,
Pick a Duck,
We also had body bopper free and easy game ,
ni mak budak giving it a try, actually we bust the max weight, mujur tak bocor…fuh ๐Ÿ˜€
and another free n easy, the zorb ball
adam giving the gals a push. wondering how it is inside?
adam muka puas hati dpt pushed n make the gals tumble all about.
and yes, as you can see on adam’s face…we had face painting. Ami, my sis’ friend was the artist of the day ย ๐Ÿ™‚
adults pun get their face painted ๐Ÿ™‚
A group photos with the moms
and among the best secret was
free flow of icecream, mingo mingo
at first i asked the men to masuk the drive way tapi the machine takleh if slope..the kipas takleh function or something like that. thus we get him to park depan gate.
another best kept secret was,
the clown
i think i better stop here and make Part II. Too much photos, the post is getting heavy…
*photos were taken by anita’s husband unless stated otherwise (i.e nannoor.blogspot and darfia mel)

His, Mine and Ours ; Frustration

By on

As most of you might already know..uzair is delay in his speech. he has yet started talking…among the very few words he says is “nak” and “bye”. Itu pun he only says nak bile dh dlm anger terjerit2. It gets really frustrating for him when he fail to deliver to us wants he wants. and on the other hand, we gets frustrated too. He makes lotsa of sound though…but not words. Some budak delay in speech tp senyap mcm malu, berat mulut. but uzair ni tejerit2 mengamuk sbb tak dpt ape die nak coz we tak paham ape die nak. he is constantly whining and throwing tantrum… there’s certain point i get soo frustrated coz i fail to attend to my child’s need. i have no idea, clueless to what he wants. I just feel like crying my lung out together with him. It is sad, i’m home 24/7 with him yet i fail to understand him. Imagine u have a son screaming all day long, and ppl ask me what he wants and all u can say is “i dont know”. It is sad to make such statement. A mother who has no answer to what his son wants. I get frustrated too. I guess to a certain point, we are on the same boat. Frustration. It is not easy to pretend you are okay when u see your child screaming away, and i don’t get time-out. I just have to deal with it. Yes, we realise maid make things worst, but can i cope without a maid, the laundry, the mess, the cleaning up. Bringing all with me where ever i go even if its just to the shop in front to get eggs since there won’t be anyone to look after them at home, can i handle that?

Anyway ,we started sending him for speech therapy. So far it doesnt help much in his speech but we see improvement in his social interaction. Dulu x hairan pun nak main with other siblings, at least now dh boleh gelak2 when he sees other 2 main. And bile jumpe org…ade lah percubaan nak pegi greet. tp since tak reti cakap…he greets with his body gesture. Alhamdulillah, we are happy to see such improvement.

I’ve made appointment for developmental paeds but guess when is our slot?

31st October 2011!!! Lame lagi tu. Hopefuly by then he has grown out of this phase. Ameen.

Last week, we decided to enroll him for TweedleWink; Right Brain Education. ย Tadi was our first lesson. They limit to 5 kids in a room. Our group has 4 kids but 2 were absent, thus there were only 2 of us. Since it was uzair’s first lesson, obviously u cant expect him to voluntarily enter the classroom and follow the activities. The other gal dah lame join kot sbb she knows sequence of the lesson and all. However the mom doesnt look that happy with uzair’s presence, ye lah distracting the lesson kan, i dont blame her though. But how can u expect my son to stay focus for the whole 1 hour when it is his first time. Yes, i wish it is as easy as that. Her daughter on the other hand was giving uzair such a warm welcome tp sadly, uzair skit pun tak heran ๐Ÿ™

Seeing the gal so confident and focus through out the 1 hours session, it reminds me of something. Back during courting years with syauQi, i remembered talking about my studies on early child education. He once asked me, what different does it make when one starts reading at age 3 while another starts reading at age 7? Kalau ikutkn die, same je…he started reading at age 7 tp alhamdulillah bejaya je jadi pilot..haha. I did ask my lecturer on this and she said there’s no studies that show the correlation on early reading and such BUT younger kids absorbs better thus their learning process is easier on them. contohnye budak 7 thn dah reti menegluh susah bagai…tp when u teach younger kids, alhamdulillah their absorption is better.

But now as a mother, i would like to make my very own opinion of early child education. Previously we sent elder to to Kidzports when there were baby coz we wanted them to have early exposure since they were premature. We wanted them to catch up with their age. But when i gave birth to uzair, we took a 2 months break since i was in confinement. After sambung balik I notice the different in the kids…the 2 months that we stop made them loose their focus and attention in the lesson. They were not as focus as before. It took only 2 months to “destroy” their attention span. And lepas tu mmg susah lah nk train balik their attention span. However when they were 22 months, we stop kidzports sbb started sending them to Montesorri.

So back to uzair and his classmate, im pretty sure when she first started her lesson die takde lah tantrum tak nk masuk class bagai sbb younger kids would feel secure sitting with the mother in the classroom and tak tepiki of the option boleh kuar class. While uZair ni dh besar dh ade kepala sendiri taknk masuk class bagai. Siap bukak pintu kuar. Tadi during the lesson, uZair kept going out and at one point i got all stressed up and frustrated, here i am bringing him to this lesson hoping it help his development but yet he refuses to enter the class.

Pastu bikin lagi panas, bile balik umah uzair trus ke dapur while i went to the washroom. Kuar2 tgk die tgh makan coco pops cereal, ratah mcm tu je. I’ve already make the rules clear that kids eat that with milk sbb if ratah mcm tu je mmg lah satu kotak boleh habis skali duduk. So right from the beginning elder 2 eat it with milk while uzair never wanted it. Tp td kuar washroom i saw uzair with a bowl of coco pops ratah mcm tu je. I pointed it out “kenapa makan tu takde susu?” so they maid dgr..boleh pulak die jwp “biar lah asalkn tak nangis (tantrum)” . So dlm kata lain, mmg maid make situation worst actually. They only think of temporary solution tp x piki of the permanent damage. Ye lah if diroang bijak tak lah diorang jadi maid kan… Same thing happen with the isu milo. we now have to hide our milo sbb if uzair nmpak nanti die nak ratah milo. so if bukan maid yg kasi / ajar die makan serbuk milo sape lagi kan. Pastu now if nmpak milo mengamuk nak ratah. And looks like lepas ni if nmpak coco pops pun ngamuk lah nak ratah. i specificaly mention to the maid “ha nanti jadi mcm milo, guling2 if tak dpt” tak tau lah if register tak dlm kepala die.

Tp kesimpulannye, i feel early childhood education is important, hopefully it will be less stressful for the parents. Maka biarlah takde budget tuk shopping, makan luar bagai, but en suami mari kita masuk kan dlm belanjawan tahunan for uwais’ early childhood education sebelum terlambat.

Fatty Crabby Baby Shower

By on July 22, 2011

Life has been very busy lately. Hardly have the time to update this blog. Last month i was busy with kids’ bday preparation. Cant wait to get the photos so i can do an entry on that.

Meanwhile lets enjoy this Fatty Crabby Baby Shower cum Bloggers-Meet-Up. It was an impromptu baby shower for Lana. We wanted to eat fatty crab, but there’s no way i can do so if we were to go to the restaurant. So just like what i did with yaya (tapau makan at my place), i suggested the same this time around. Thus it was possible for mom and dad makan smpai jilat jari while the kids buat hal masing2…hihi

While choosing the date, lana suggested to do it last week sbb anytime she’ll be in the labour room…along the conversation, someone mention boleh jadi ala2 baby shower. It was just part of the conversation. So malam tu i decided to do a lil deco mane yg sempat. Buzz my sister-in-law to help me out with the design, i had something in mind tp tak berjaya buat…the “swimming baby”. It was already late night so didnt expect much coz i knew she was also tied up with her schedule. Tgk2 bangun besok pagi…tadaaaa there’s an email from her with the swimming baby. Yayyy!!!

So i played around with the design to do some other decos (i.e flag banner, place mat ,cupcake toppers and bottle lables ). Printing shop closes by noon on saturday so agak kelam kabut thus i settled with watever yg sempat buat. And i was thinking, takpe 2nd baby takyah beria sgt setakat nk add some colors here and there for the day. Little did i know, lana never had a baby shower mase hQ. Lana, if only u hinted to us ๐Ÿ˜‰

Nway, i didnt take much photos coz the crabs were just sooo tempting. Put aside the camera and start makan dgn penuh perasaan sume org ๐Ÿ™‚

Here’s poster that greeted me in the morning when i checked my email.

The table mat and bottle lable for the botol susu,

After the main dish ketam ,we had dessert. Fiza bwk kuih keria, yaya; karipap, nita ikea’s dessert (arrghhh time ni lah lupe namenye, almond something), siti brought Serai Pavlova di mana telah mengkaburkn mata sume org…thus i was kinda lucky actually coz lana bwk her sinfully delicious brownies with great package, along with vanila ice cream…had 1/2 of it remaining in which i hide it in the fridge for me and i (yes only me) to indulge it….hihihihi.

The brownies,

and the pavlova,

that’s about all the photos i took, was too busy enjoying the great food and good company that i decided to ditch the camera aside. and the reason i can afford to ditch the camera aside was because nita’s husband became the trusty cameraman on the night. here are some shots he took (in which i downloaded it from his fb , thanks !)

someone is stealing the preggie mommy lime lights! ๐Ÿ˜›

n in this pic below, i think i can see uwais’ face in me, no?
